| belgian bound books
Belgian bound books make ideal journals and are suitable for albums as well. They are rugged, flexible, and elegant all at once. Boasting a tight, compact binding, the text block (the group of pages making up the inside of the book) is sewn separately from the covers. This means that the cover can fold back on itself for ease in writing while still allowing the pages to lie flat. Because there is no adhesive involved in the binding process, you never have to worry about the pages falling out. A Belgian bound book makes an excellent choice for a journal in your studio, purse, and especially out in the field. As a side note, this is my favorite of any binding that I've worked with or even seen. I learned it from Emily Martin |
